QUAD II-Forty Tube Amplifier Monoblock Pair - 40 Watts RMS, Sound great! Quad QC twenty four Preamplifier + Phono stage board included! Units are used, in EXCELLENT visual and working condition, NO minor wear and tear, like NEW! The Quad II-Forty is based on the original Quad II amplifier, originally created by Peter Walker in 1953.Not only are these some of the finest sounding valve pre/power combinations available to date, but the genuine heritage and craftsmanship of the original has been preserved in its exquisite styling. The Quad II-Forty power amplifier is much more than a tribute to one of the most famous designs in audio - but refined and powerful in the modern sense of the terms.
Although the circuit topology has changed a little from the original, significantly better components and a brand new transformer design have been engineered. While still being delicately balanced a fast, crisp and detailed sound is achieved, whilst producing an output current suitable for modern loudspeakers. KT-88 output valves work in push-pull configuration, while a choice of 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm taps allow for a wide choice of loudspeaker configurations. Timeless Engineering designed by Andy Grove and Stan Curtis. With KT-88 output valves on the II-Forty, the push-pull configuration is visually stunning, even when safely secured within the cage that protects them. The output characteristic is a superbly refined sound, matched with both classic and contemporary loudspeakers.
Residual Hum and Noise: Better than -80dB. Frequency Response:10Hz - 30kHz (+0dB, -0.5dB). Loudspeaker Taps : 4 and 8 Ohms.
