Platinum Matched Quad GE/Westinghouse 6L6GC NOS NIB 1981. Tested on a Dan Nelson restored and calibrated TV-7D/U.
I bought these tubes new, at the same time, in the early 1980's and have kept them on a shelf in my office since then. I originally bought them as extra tubes for my McIntosh MC-30 monoblock amps because I really loved their sound better than other available 6L6GC brands. These tubes were obviously made by GE and later re-branded by Westinghouse. The GE Dot datecode predates the Westinghouse datecode, and the Westinghouse logo is printed on top of the GE markings.
Some of the Westinghouse printing did not survive the last 44 years, or was not well printed to begin with. I've provided extra closeup photos of the GE Dot datecode, Westinghouse logo & datecode, and how some of the printing overlapped on the glass. There's also a closeup of the Round Halo Getters. Here's a description of the tubes.GE Dot Datecode = Week 19, 1981. Westinghouse Letter Datecode = June 1982. Top Mica is oblong with points. Bottom Mica is oblong with points.
2 Round Halo side getters. Both are Insured with Tracking.
