RARE PAIR of Altec A 340A Tube Power Amplifiers Peerless Audiophile Mono Blocks

If you're lucky, you may find one of these in your years of searching, But its near IMPOSSIBLE to find a PAIR. But TODAY IS YOUR DAY!

First let's start with the good. These appear to untouched originals. The tubes are a mix of GE and unmarked (no name). The lettering is in nice shape. Now for some of the bad. The gain control on one has been switched with a cheap taped up style control.

Both power cords need replacing as bare wire is exposed and not safe to plug in. A few tube shields are missing. The bottom covers are long gone, so the bottoms are open. The paint has wear, scratches, scuffs from being used and moved over their 60+ year life.

One fuse holder on the back of one amp is missing. I think with some cleaning, they would look a little better but they will still have that worn look to them which I sorta like.... The patina look fits these well. I wouldnt want one painted up and looking brand new. One transformer has a small dent on the top edge.

The photos should give a good visual of what you're getting. On a cosmetic scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being terrible and 10 being perfect, these Altec amps get a 6. What you see is what you get. No manual or extra items are included. Photos are of the exact item you'll receive. Examine photos closely and ask questions if you have any. I do not package my stereo equipment. I will remove the tubes and wrap each one in bubble wrap. If you have specific packing requests, let me know. I have no control over what they charge, so you must contact them with questions.
